Weird noise going uphill
Hi, A while ago I posed a thread about my transmission being diagnosed with problems since it had a "rubbing rubber noise"... After a replacement of tires the noise went away, transmission fluid inspection showed no debris on it, but the mechanic said that he was still able to hear something on it using the "stethoscope" (don't know the real name of the tool). So I tried to fight my OCD and be happy for a while haha... Last night as I was going uphill (education hill, kind of steep)... I heard a weird noise when I accelerated.. It was a mix between a rattling noise and a geari'sh sound.. its hard to explain... the pitch didn't go higher if I went faster and after a certain speed it went away... also the frequency and volume of the sound were not speed dependant... it was not a loud noise.. it was a bit subtle, I only heard it because radio was off... I have tried to replicate it but I think it only happens when I go up hill at low speeds for the current gear.... I think I can only hear it between 2nd and 3rd gear... Maybe the sound was always there but until now I hadn't heard it.... Does this "problem" sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks!!!
Sal.
