Auto Climate Control dead as well as MFSW audio buttons, Speedo and Dash lights out

today my auto climate control went out on my 02 MCS, its freezing outside and i cant turn on the heat A few more problems that seem to be linked is that (1) i noticed that when i turn on my headlights my headlights work but the speedo and tach doesn't illuminate, (2) when i flick the turn signal or hazard lights it works but the clicking sounds and the green light that comes on the tach. doesnt illuminate either. (3) the multi-function steering wheel audio controls no longer work. Now everything else lights up and works, radio, cruise control, heated seats(saving grace from total freezing), etc.

I think its a fuse or relay. anybody can point me in the right fuse or relay i should be looking to see if it its bad? i tried to reset the ecu to see if it would fix itself but no luck. please help and much thanks.

Go in the footwell, pull the cover off, there's the photos on the inside that are pretty self explanatory of where to look, you'll be looking for the dome light picture, and the one that looks like gauges. I'd start by checking a couple of those first.

Thanks for your input, i checked all the fuses and they were fine but ive found the problem. The dension ipod intergration kit was the fault. ive unplugged it and everything works fine. I've shoulda got the dice kit instead.

Seen this before, that's why I only use the DICE units. I've also seen XM radio units do it.

I had the EXACT same problems until I removed the iPod (oem) interface. I re installed it and the issues persisted when the white/red/yellow cable was in the plastic adapter going from the cars wiring to the iPod wiring via #2 slot on a plastic adapter. I removed the WRY wire and those issues dissappeared. I wonder what it could be, the WRY wire comes in from my Harmon Kardon AMP.

Go into the trunk. check the wiring on the passenger side, under the carpet, as if you are going to pull out the battery. The wires that are on the passenger side coming from under the right rear quarter panel, they rub, causing an internal grounding problem. move the harness with the 3 wires in it, and feed them back through the interior panelling. This should solve all the problems with the heat, blinkers, dash lights.
