03/02 Front engine mount question!!

So my front Engine mount finally went this month!! Can't complain because it made it almost 7 years.. So I'm at work and taking it apart thinking "oh this should be an easy/quick fix" Yeah not so much. Every other front engine mount I have replaced has had a bolt that screws in from the bottom of the frame rail and into the engine mount. I look at mine and theres NO bolt in the bottom holding it on! I take the top broken piece off and come to find out my engine mount screws in from the top of the frame rail??? I've been working on MINIs for almost 5 years now and have never seen this before? Has anyone ever seen this before? I looked up part numbers and I can't find a part number for this mount. There is only 1 part number shown for the pre 04 mounts. So now what???

I'd say it's cause of the early production date on the car. Just order the one for an 03-04 and the bolt from the bottom up. I keep them in stock if you need one.

I think your missing the point.... There are threads in the frame rail, if I could just put a bolt in from the bottom I would. The bottom of the 03-04 mount has the threads attached to it, I cant just put that mount in. I wouldnt be on here asking if I could just slide it in and still bolt it. And I work at the dealership....

Ok, it screwed into the frame, not just a nut on the end. my mistake. If I were you I'd drill it out and install the 03-04 mount.

yep found they (MINI) has you do just that. drill out the hole to 14mm and drill down 20mm to fit the updated mount in. no biggie.
