MCS R53, 6 speed manaul transmission problem. need advice.
Hi
i need some few expert advice, i have a 2003 MCS that broke down on me yesterday. i was on a highway 401 toward west when, my MCS stall and lost power. i was on my 5th gear that time when i felt the lost of power, in a instinct i down shift to 4th to gain power again however, that did not make any difference. i look at my RPM and my speed is totally going down, no warning light so whatever on the dash, my temp is normal, and i can shift with no grinding, my clutch has pressure. try to gear down again to 3rd and still no change. manage to drive the shoulder of the high way and stop i smell burn clutch wheni came to a complete stop. shut down my car and restart it again and put it on gear 1 and car is not moving it's just revving. check make sure im not steping on break or my ebreak is down. good to go.. try to gear again to 1 and still not moving changed to gear 2 no move. im STUCK!
towed it and brought it to mechanic. and they check it out.. they told me not sure might be clutch or the worst the transmission. they said they can shift to gear without stepping on the clutch and while the engine is on.
i would like to get second opinion to MCS drivers or mechanic on what do they think.
you can changed the gear without stepping on the clutch, while engine is on
MCS is not moving at all, MCS can start no problem
changing gear is not grinding
pressure on the clutch.
no warning indicator on dash.
has anyone experince this issue or know anyone that has the same problem. if so what could it be. can this happen to a manaul transmission? if worst come to worst if transmission issue. how much do you think im looking at and where cani get a brandnew or used one here in toronto or isit better to get is fix which one is cheaper?. my MCS is 2003, pre owned, manual transmission, 6speed, and its has 105026 clicks.. and i'm expert stick driver.

It might be the shift cables. Does moving the shifter around feels like it is actually moving the selector forks?
When one of my clutches melted to the pressure plate, I couldn't shift into any gear with the engine on, but could with the engine off. The clutch pedal felt normal.
Perhaps your clutch pressure plate has lost all of it's finger springs, keeping it disengaged. Yet that would make a hell of a noise...

Thanks for the inputs, im still waiting for the response, my mechanic still pulling out the tranny. as for nabeshin, i can shift into gears even my engine is onn and without stepping on the clutch. same with when if my engine is off. and no noise when i shift. seems to be the car is in neutral gear even on any gear.
Helix13mini; yes i can feel the shifter to any gear no problem.. and i ias i said without steping on the clutch.
have guys encounter or heard anyone one that has a blown manual tranny in MCS?
i hope everyones opinion is right. still crossing my finger for outcome. i'll keep you guys updated.

mscmano, what ended up being the problem?
My 2004 MCS just did this yesterday (54000 mi). My only difference was I was in third shifting to fourth and the pedal stuck to the floor. After pumping the pedal ~5 times the pedal released, after it released there is pressure in the pedal, can shift gears just fine, but engine just revs with no power to the wheels. Clutch wasn't slipping at all before this either.
