Hmm, just did some research on the a/c and fan issue and came across this:
"Only true for 2002 and early 2003 models without the revised and retrofitted harness to separate the power feeds to the two fans."

Anyone have further info?
Taken a bit out of contexts...
I think the the retrofit refers to splitting the PS pump cooling fan and the Radiator cooling fan to seperate fuses......What would happen is the PS fan would get jammed due to road grit, etc, and blow the fuse, rendering BOTH fan inoperative, leading the car to overheat on a warm day.
A common problem is the failure of the low speed resistor on the fan....this renders the low speed inoperative.....the fan should run on LOW when the AC is on....if it cycles on and off...VERY LOUDLY....and the cars temperature is very hot before the fan comes on to cool the car, and then turns on and off every few seconds...rather than staying on with the LOW speed.
Think of the Fan staying on low when the AC is on as a way to ensure a steady supply of cool air to the AC condenser...which sits in-front of a HOT radiator (this keeps the pressures in the system in check, efficiency up, and keeps it pumping out cool air)!!
