Parking sensor fuse keeps blowing

I have an '05 convert...this past winter I noticed that my parking sensors weren't working so I checked the fuse and it was blown so I replaced it...worked fine when I backed out the garage and then I kind of forgot about it till I backing out of spot late one night and smacked right into an illegally parked car...it was dark and that damn rear window was dirty from all the snow and crap and honestly I've grown so dependant on the sensors that I probably don't pay as close attention as I should. Next morning I checked the fuse and sure enough it was blown...changed it again and it worked just once and then blew again. What's going on I've bought my fuses at the same place could I have gotten a bad bunch or is this a small symptom of a much larger problem. Needless to say until the incident whm I backed into the car i hadn't sustained any recent trauma to the bumper.

From what I've read the powersteering cooling fan uses the same fuse as the parking sensor. I'm thinking your powersteering fan is toasted & that is what is blowing the fuse.

Never posted an update but yes it was my powersteering fan...it's been replaced and now no PDC issues.

Just to revive an old thread, are there any aftermarket kits that i could install? I'm thinking of purchasing an 2010 or 2011 hardtop S. Also is the installation hard at all?
