Need help with Sea foam
OK what did I do wrong. On my R53 MCS, I disconnected the PCV tube with the engined warmed up and running. I poured in 1/3 pint into the hose. That heavy vacuum made that part much easier than I anticipated. The idle dipped a little but it never came close to dying. Once I plugged the PCV tube back in the car died. I let it sit for 5 minutes. I started it back up. No smoke, I revved it up like in the demo video, still no smoke. I drove around the block. No smoke. Where did all the seafoam go?
UPDATE: I did it again, R53 MCS, when facing the open bonnet the PCV on the left was removed with the engine running. A strong vacuum is noted. I poured another 1/3 of a can in, a little more aggressivly this time (thinking it all evaporated last time). I was more careful when I plugged the tube back in and the car did not die this time. I turned the car off and waited about 12 minutes this time, started the car up and again, no smoke. Car runs perfect right off the bat. Maybe something is wrong with this batch of seafoam? Is this the CARB approved smoke free version or something? It was a brand new can so if that is true others may have experienced this. Maybe I'll try it on the R56 tonight and report back.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm getting ready to try it. (Already bought a can)
I'm not real worried about the process, just curious as to what was going on in your situation. I live in the middle of Las Vegas, so I'm trying to scope out a good location to do this, because I know somebody will think my MINI's on fire.
Also, did you notice any difference?

Pour half the can in the oil and the rest of the can in the pcv valve. Make sure to choke the engine with the last few drops of seafoam.
Let it sit for 20 min and drive slowly at first (or just let the engine warm up)
Turn off ur car again and wait for another 20 min.
After that you should be getting smoke

Here's my infamous Seafoam video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-CDeYmm4HA
It sounds like you did everything right up to the point of rest. I let my MINI rest for about 30 minutes before I cranked it up and revved the smoke out of it. Also, are you using the liquid version or the aerosol? I used the aerosol stuff.

Yeah, I did the seafoam in my MCs R53 today and let it sit for 30min the first time...huge smoke cloud, and then again with a sit time of 45min, and an even bigger smoke cloud. I imagine its never been cleaned out. Worked like a charm and it sounds / run's cleaner. Now if i can get rid of the annoying squeal...I'm good.
