OK, I have searched everywhere and cannot find a solution. I am sure someone here has the answer. Even the local MINI dealer can't provide the black textured paint for the aero bumper as the part numbers in the installation manual are not available to the public, only to the factory. Their solution is to use Krylon acrylic undercoating and build up the outside lip of the bumper. They did admit however that it is not a perfect match. So that being said, does anyone have a recommendation for what to use? Someone must have done this before without ordering the bumper pre-painted.

I took my car to a very large / respected bodyshop here in Toronto and asked them to match the plastic arch colour with paint on the aero bumper / skirts.

They said it would be difficult but not a problem, few days later the car was done with perfect matching paint for the arch section of the aero bumper / side skirts.

Cant help you with much more than that, I would go to a different shop.

 

SEM makes a texture spray it works well. A lot of VW guys use it and it looks good.
