So I Broke my tail light lens

Long and idiotic story but the bottom line is I broke the lens on the passenger tail light. It's an 04 S, do I need to replace the whole tail light or can I just replace the lens? If I need to replace the entire housing I'd like an OEM one, I did a quick search and couldn't find one. Wondering if anyone can point me where to find some or if anyone has some they took off and don't need.

Suggestion

If you are picky like me I would buy a set and do both, on a car that year the plastic hazes with time and will leave thing unbalanced to the eye. and it not hard to do,

I've already considered I might have todo both I'm so picky like that. What years have the same tail lights? I'd imagine 02-06 but are there any variations among them? My only worry on eBay is crappy parts lol

You'll need '02-'04 lenses. The 05/06 has a different configuration. Lots of OEMs on ebay.

This doesn't need to be a bad thing... a broken tail light is an opportunity in disguise. Buy a set of clear tail lights!

If not... def buy two OEM ones and replace both... it would drive me nuts if one looked different than the other!

Still debating what todo (get another old set or buy some nice new different ones) I've been looking into the clear tail light sets, obviously there are a ton of different ones on eBay but has anyone had great experience with a specific brand/ seller/ website?

As far as I know the 05-09' are different than 02-04' so 09's won't work for me

Lots of mistakes in the ebay posts. If you bought those for your MINI, they will not fit! Those will only work on 2002-2006.

Justin,

I might get lucky, this page from Allminiparts.com shows that the lights fit the hardtop from 2002-2006, and cabrio from 2004-2009. What are your thoughts?

I was going to mention they will fit on R52 Convertibles up until 2008, the taillights changed on the R57 in 2009 though. They won't fit yours, they have a completely different shape. You should email the seller and complain because he should have worded his article different. But besides that, can't you see the taillight that you bought has a different shape than yours though?

Well Justin...........

I have a set of beautiful LED Tail lights, that dont fit......Note my look of shock.

The only good news is i will be getting a $240 credit in my checking account.

I sent an email to Ciraya.com, to ask them if they were aware of the difference and if they plan on making a set for the 2nd Gen Cars...Stay Tuned.

That sucks that you had to go through that, but I'm glad they refunded you.

And about time they made a set for 2nd gen cars, you know, considering that they have been out for 3-4 years now!

Ciraya responded to my email, they said that they have the 2nd gen light in Design as we speak, and hope to have it in production soon.

Actually the 2nd gen hardtop has been in production even longer...

2nd gen hardtops have been out since 07. That makes it 3-4 years like I said.
