How to adjust/align door on R53? Cooper S

Hey guys,

Can anyone explain or put me in the right direction of how to align or adjust the doors on an R53 / Cooper S or Cooper?

I want to adjust how high the door is because when it closes, it seems to be a tad too high and is not closing as easily as the driver's side.

Also, the chrome belt line trim does not line up from the rear quarter window to the door.

Thanks

Justin.

Aligning any car door is not as easy as it might seem, though it is possible for newbs. You need to loosen the bolts on the hinges and sometimes it requires shims. They don't just move up and down, but in/out and they rotated top bottom.

For me, I would just go pay a body shop a few bucks and have a pro do it in 10 mins. It is a classic task that you get much better at the more you do it and the first time is always a long learning experience (unless you just get lucky).

You can always try it and then go to them, but I did it once long ago and IIRC it wasn't fun or fast.
