Help with Slave/Master Cylinder

Hi Guys,

Hopefully someone on this board can help.

I have 2002 mini cooper base.Last week i was having problems getting into gears.Looked under the hood and it looks like my slave was leaking.I replaced the slave and bled the system jumped in and pushed the clutch peddle and pop! slave is broken again. So i go and buy another slave and master cylinder and replace both parts.Bled the system again and the clutch peddle feels the same .If i push the peddle all the way down it will break the slave cylinder( I need 2 more inchs to touch the floor)
any ideas on what i did wrong?

Thanks
Al

1. how did you bleed the system?
2. Did you press the clutch pedal with the slave not attached to the trans?

You need to compress the slave fully prior to bleeding. Even then, it's a pain to get ALL the air out. My solution was to use a GM steering wheel puller with longer bolts.

Hi rsvp9146,

1. I pressure bled it ( 15 psi) Vaccum bled ,Reverse bled and normal up/down

2.The slave was attached to trans when i press clutch pedal.

I made the bleeding tool that BMP Desing used on youtube.

Ive used about 2 and a 1/2 liters allready.

Im going to try to gravity bleed it today.

is it this much of a pain to get ait out of the system? ( lol )
