Smell from Vents

Okay, well it is starting to be A/C time here in Michigan. We are starting to get an order from the vents when the A/C is on. Any thoughts on where to start looking for a problem?

Change the cabin filter first. It's under the passenger side dash. It is just two clips and the door pivots off, then the filter slides out. Getting a new one back in can be tricky. After that, I think most auto parts stores sell stuff you can spray down the vents to eliminate musty odors. Never tried it, but it should be safe for the system. Never really had odors in the system.
