My PS pump and clutch went out about the same time, so I chose to get the clutch fixed first (for obvious reasons!) and just unplugged my PS pump which is running all the time. I'm wanting to temporarily run a relay to the pump and connect the hot wire for the PS pump to turn on with the key. Has anyone done this or can anyone offer advice on the wiring schematic of the pump?

PS...I know this isn't a permanent solution, and I can drive w/o PS, but it would be nice to have PS again on the cheap for the time being.

Thanks for your post! I have the Haynes manual and it doesn't really have any detail for the wiring of the PS pump. I was hoping not to have to buy a Bentley manual at this time.

 

The wiring schematics can be researched on the BMW WDS (Wiring Diagram System) available online at

I get to replace my PSP this weekend.......and I'll go ahead and do the fan as well.
