Electrical gremlin

There is some type of electical problem I am having. Sometimes it prevents me from starting the car.

So when I put the key in and turn it to auxillary, the speedometer and all of the needles flicker and make a flickering noise. It will try to start if I turn it on during that process. If I wait until all of the gauges do its thing, it still might start. Normally when you turn the key to auxillary the needles smoothly flows without any flickering. Has anyone had this problem before or can someone help me diagnose this problem.

Have you checked your battery? Make sure the connections are tight because if they are loose at all then sometimes it does that. Happened to me!

More info please...

What do you mean "it will try to start"?

It turns over and doesn't start?

It wont turn over?

Gauge flickering is somewhat normal depending on the hardware variant. It is a self calibration of the gauges.
