SES and AutoEnginuity won't connect
It's time for me to take my Mini in for my annual inspection and while Guam isn't necessarily strict on standards, I'd like to go in without my Service Engine Soon light on. I don't know why it's on and AutoEnginuity won't connect from my laptop to my Mini since I installed Win7 on my lappy. I've tried 3 other laptops but none seem to want to work with my Mini now.
I did get my WinXP lappy to connect to my Jeep with no problems, to include live data monitoring, so it looks like the AE hardware is good. Ideas?
And my SES light is on more often than not. Of every 10 trips to work, it seems to be on for 9 of them. I'm getting 36 miles per gallon currently (13 mile trip to work) and no sputter, performance, or any other kind of issues. So the SES light is probably just a notification, but don't want to pay an inspection fee and fail none-the-less.

Your IKE might be holding up communication. Without check the diagnosis bus with a O-scope, I would reset the cluster. Test 19 to unlock, test 21 to reset. Key to the first position gets you into service mode while holding down the odometer reset button, then scroll through until test 19, wait till unlock shows then one button press. Scroll back through until test 21, then one button press to reset. Good luck
