So thought I'd post here to see if anyone has any insight to what's been going on with my car.

There's a couple different things going on and not sure if they're all related or what, but here goes:

1) Boost is doing some sort of surging. Don't know how well I can explain it other than turbo sounds like it spools up and then slows down and speeds back up again. It's hard to see fine detail of the boost numbers because I don't have a true boost gauge, just my Scan Gauge and it won't pick up these minor variations. But you can feel distinctly feel it and hear the turbo doing this. (I think I'll try to get a video...don't have the greatest cam so not sure it will pick it up)

Could this be a wastegate issue? Or any other ideas?

2) Car is pinging like crazy under any sort of load once boost ramps up, it pretty much every gear. As a result it seems to be pulling timing quite a bit upon any sort of WOT acceleration (this is can be heard audibly in the tone of my exhaust and also on my scan gauge)

I just did 3 seafoam treatments 2 weeks ago, and the car has been running great ever since, until now. I tempted to seafoam it again, but I find it hard to believe that carbon is the issue seeing as I just did the treatment and the car has been running great.

Maybe the detonation issue is what is causing the boost issue? Car might be pulling timing and dumping boost (thus whats creating that surging)?

Any insight would be great. Car has had the same tune since last fall and I've never had issues with it and its been running great, so I find it hard to believe that it is an issue with the tune.

 

I think this happens to myt car also, when iim driving, i can feel the car start to jerk, and when i look at my boost gauge, its flickering up and down.
