DTC's P1109 & P0172 Any Ideas?

Hello everybody, Recently my 2006 MCSA with 38k has been throwing a few codes. The P0172: system too rich bank 1 and P1109 which I can't find a definition of.

The SES light has been on and off for about two weeks and during that time when scanned it only showed the P0172. Then, yesterday I was in stop and go traffic and got an EML. I promptly scanned when I got home to find the P1109. The car runs strong but the first start of the day is rough, I have to feather in some gas to keep it running for a bit.

BTW the MCS is stock with the exception of an exhaust system which has been on the car for about 23k.

Anybody have any experience with these two codes together? Any ideas?

Thank You

I have a very similar problem; I got a yellow SES P0172 code yesterday in stop & go traffic.

My mileage is around 62k kilometers, which is very close to what you have. Mine also stumbles a bit when setting off in the morning (a by-product of running too rich).

Local MINI garage that did the scan cleared the code for now, and it has not yet returned. I'm due for a service there in about a week anyway, if the light comes back he'll try and chase it down further.

Any news on the P0172 code? My SES came back again yesterday, whilst going at a pretty good clip in 4th gear in Sport mode.

P1109 MANIFOLD AIR PRESSURE TOO HIGH IN DECELERATION, means that you have a leak somewhere around the intake manifold. I'd check your intercooler couplers or around the bypass valve.
