Since I've owned my 2006 MCS new, there has been a slight "groaning" noise comming from the dash vent area when the car is shut off. It only lasts about 3 seconds and I believe it's from a squeaky vent door moving when the engine is shut off. I never looked into it and now it's part of my MINI's personallity. Has anyone else experianced this?

 

happens to my mini too. i just figured it is supposed to do it.

 

Not here sorry. Only stupidly strange noise I get is a VERY LOUD "THUMP" at my rear quarter panel almost every time I start to pull away after being parked for a while....so damn loud somtimes it's like the car was rammed by a billy goat wearing oven mitts.

 

Mine does it too. You can hear it power up if you move the ignition to position 1..
