My rear endlink broke last week on a road trip (50 miles from home, 75 from my destination), but it was apparent immediately (I believe) because the top half wedged in between the swaybar and the upper control arm mount (BANG! BANG! ... BANG!) - put in a stock piece, but am researching aftermarket:
Alta links on sale at Moss Motors ($99), but a fellow MINI racer recommended Powergrids, also sold as WMW's (they use ball joints instead of spherical rod ends) ($155). I'm using a site a machinist friend turned me on to to R&D some.
