Need to vent

I took my MINI into the mechanic on Monday, June 28 so he could remove the power steering motor. That took 2 days. Mailed it that Friday to BBA reman which took nearly a week to get there thanks to the weekend and holiday. Get it back a week later only to find out my mechanic is on "vacation" so everything sits another week. I get a call this past Monday (July 19th) that the pump won't turn off, so back to BBA it goes (with the disclaimer "as long as it's our fault it'll be covered by warranty"). Now its July 27 and I haven't seen my car in a month; meanwhile I'm driving I'm brother's '97 Camry I miss my car and I'm starting to think I should have just paid the freakin' dealership the $1200 or whatever they charge. BBA says they'll have it for 3-4 days so I'm lookin' at the middle of next weeks at best, IF it works then.

Good luck Wetworth and hopefully the car will be back all fixed and ready to go, pretty soon.

I'll do that if this doesn't work out, but they already have the piece, ugh.

While it's a hassle....

I hope it all works out. bummer your mechanic didn't let you know about his travel plans before....

And never, ever, ever go to the dealership if it's being paid for out of your pocket!

Not unless you really enjoy getting screwed in that fashion!

also...

if one is handy with tools, jumping in and doing the swap yourself is a good learning experience. I just pulled mine, cleaned the craap out and put it back in and it's good to go!
