I have been auto crossing my new mini and started to realize that I don’t hear a rev limiter. You must excuse me because I grew up around the Honda community and was use to hearing when you hit your rev limiter so it scared me on my last race when I saw that I topped out second gear and might have been doing it the whole time. So I was wondering is there a rev limiter on the new minis and if so what is it set to and why don’t I hear/feel it ?
If it activates it completely kills the engine. Dead silent. I found it in first gear when taking off. I thought the engine had died. Putting the clutch in and back out did nothing. I then remembered my '92 BMW did this, shifted to second, and off it went.
Pretty sad way to build one. "everyone" has been building random ignition interrupt, or with electronic throttle, smooth limit for years. Sad BMW, sad.
