What air filter suit for R50, 2006 Mini Cooper AT?

Hi everybody;

What air filter suit for R50, 2006 Mini Cooper AT, which manufactured in UK, in order to increase the air flow?

I am considering two air filter, such as

1) K&N air filter (gauze filter);
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2239

2) Alta foam filter (Foam filter);
http://www.altaperformance.com/products/show/38/Panel-Filter-R53

3) or any other recommended.

Which one is most suitable for my car? Can anybody share with me?

Thanks!

I got this EXACT question in an email. Are you from overseas? Snap a pic of your engine bay/airbox and we will see what ya got! A foam filter does not get as much restriction as a cotton gauze filter does over time. They are very easily cleaned and do have more filter media than a cotton gauze filter. Hope this helps!

I use the drop in K&N "rechargeable" filter in my '05 R50. I clean and re-oil once a year. If you want to stay with the stock airbox this is the cheapest way to go. Small improvement in HP and a nice improvement in sound.

Otherwise http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...ke_system.html is just an example of a more advanced cold air system .... of which their are many for MINIs.
