Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) Induced Early Clutch Failure
If you or someone you know has had a early (less than 30K) clutch failure that the dealer claims is due to driver abuse, you might want to read this service bulletin dated Mar. 2008. It is specific to the R56.

If this site won't open, manually enter this one in Google Search:

BTW, this design problem was first reported in Europe in the spring of '07.

I'm unable to open either link even if I enter them manually. I'd be interested to read this since I just had my clutch replaced and they said that it had been abused. I want to clarify that I am not the one who abused this clutch because I just purchased the car and it had 26,000 on the clock when I bought it. If anybody could post a link that might actually work for me I'd appreciate it.

No, thankfully they didn't charge me for the clutch. I should also clarify that the clutch had not yet failed. I was complaining because it was making a horrible knocking sound. The sound would go away when you disengage the clutch. Dealer says some noise is normal for a d/m setup. Mine was making excessive noise.
