How to enable factory alarm "beep"

Does anyone know how to enable the factory alarm "beep" when you engage the alarm? My friend has a 2006 Mini Cooper S Convertible with the JCW package.

Is this only able to be done through the dealership? The dealership I called said this could be done on 2009 and newer models. However, I have a factory alarm on my 2005 Mini Cooper S and it has the "beep" when I engage the alarm.

Thanks for your help!

Peter

The only way to get the beep is to have the factory alarm installed. It was the same thing on my 2006 BMW 330. I know... it sucks. If I remember correctly the dealer can no longer install the OEM alarm. The only way to get the alarm is when you order the car.

The dealership can do it with their computer. Some cars it's not an option, but most it can be done no problem.

I was told that its not possible on Gen2 cars. You have to have the alarm to get the beep. Maybe my source was wrong??
