Vaccum leak

I have a 2003 S with 81.000 on it...only had it for about 5 months...the service engine soon light came on recently...I went to autozone and they scanned it and it gave a vaccum leak code. I did service the K and N air filter recently and put it back on snug...but it seems that shortly thereafter is when I started getting this CELS indication....Anyone have any experience on this?

Thanks

What was the code? It will help in trying to figure out the problem.

Iwould go back and have them redo and give you the code number. Then people can help with answers to fix problem. You can also google code # and will be able to see what might be causing the problem and then give you soom possible fixes.

You have to double check your work near the filter and make sure there are no hoses that are not going anywhere.

After that the code will help pinpoint were to look.

Went back to advanced and they reran scanner....code given was P0420 and they cleared out code..light out and has not come back on yet......since I just did air filter service,,,tech there said that filter may not have been complietly dry after I reisnstalled...and that some of the oil may have gotten inside and could cause a code...I did reinstall filter right after oiling it and started the car...sounds like a possibility

It's possible. Always let the filter sit for a few hours before reinstalling. This will give the oil ample time to fully absorb into the cotton fiber.
