Hey guys quick question for you. I have a 2003 Just A Cooper. For some reason I am gettting a low oil pressure light anytime the RPM's dip under about 1k. This is regardless of gear, idle, temperature, or anything else from what I can tell. The oil level is perfectly fine. I haven't heard anything or felt anything that would say my oil pressure is low. Suggestions? Thanks so much in advance!
Did this happen after an oil change? The reason I ask is there is a part in the oil filter that must be reused. Many times garages not familiar with MINI will forget to reuse the part. The symptom is what you are describing.
Yes this did start after I changed the oil. I am aware that some MINI's have a plastic piece and a spring in the filter housing. When I changed it there WAS a spring in the housing, no plastic piece.
+1
YOUR OIL PRESSURE IS LOW!!!
STOP DRIVING BEFORE YOU CAR'S MOTOR IS DAMAGED!!!
You may need to have a part ordered and put it into your oil filter holder...when the oil was changed, it was likely thrown out. There has been many folks with this issue. Do a search.
No puralator. Where can I get this part? Also I regret to inform you that I have been driving it for awhile now lol. Hopefully there is no hidden damage!
