Air in coolant system

After a DIY drain and fill, I can't seem to get all the excess air evacuated. I've pressurized the system , let it warm, then vented via the screw in the upper hose. (prolly twenty or more times) & I've checked the expansion tank to add coolant as needed after venting. Every time the vent screw is opened I get the sound of air escaping, and no coolant flow (which is what I read to expect).
I've hit a wall on this one, help please.

I too had this problem. It takes a long time for the coolant to eventually come out. I think it was something like 10 minutes before it came out the top. Also, I can't remember if it is in the bentley or not, but I kept my fan on low and heater on full. Just be patient, the coolant will leak out (be careful it is very hot!)

I did keep the heater on. Do you mean that you kept the vent screw open while the coolant got hot ?

Just run the engine with the vent screw open for atleast 10 minutes. Mine took a while. The coolant will flow out the vent screw. It is hot when it comes out. Sorry if I was confusing.

Depends. On my S, there is only one. I think the justacoopers there is a second one rear of the thermostat housing? I dont have my book in front of me.

On the S there are two bleed screws - one on the upper radiator hose at the very front of the car and the other on the thermostat housing that looks more like a bolt than a bleeder screw.

Which bolt? I'd love to be corrected.
