Headlight failure help!

Headlight failure help!
greetings mini minds of knowledge.
have an 02' Mini, stock with power package, 17" run flats and only 50,492 miles on her.
last week getting into the car I turned my head lights on, they flickered on for a brief second only to then black out. All other night running lights working fine. I have High beams that work but low beam will not work at all. Left side turning indicators now clicks 2x fast as normal however Right side turning indicators still operates fine. Reverse and fog lights all ok.
I have changed the fuses for appropriate places both 15 and 30 amp fuses and any other fuse that has light elements attached to it have been replaced as well. This did not fix anything.
Next step was to replace the actual bulbs, did that tonight and after expecting all to work did not resolve the issue.
I have no idea at this point where o turn to next, mini service said it was the bulb(s) needing replacement all the wiring that I can trace looks to be intact and connections are in good order.
I'm hoping someone can guide or help me fix the issue so I don't have to blind other drives with my high beams if I have to go out at after dark.
any and all help is most appreciated!
best regards
russ

02 Mini, about 50K, just replaced the two headlight bulbs with cool blue H7's. (one had finally burned out) High beams still fine.
Plastic socket electrical connection was crumbling a bit when I reconnected/plugged-in. Headlights operating fine, but a little strange for the electrical connector to crumble like that...almost as if it was subjected to high temp.
Assuming I could almost do without the plastic....since the electrical connectors seem fine.....but.....

OP
a GEN1 MINI has two bulbs in the fixture, one for low beam and one for high. They are the same type bulb but aimed differently.
Did you replace both bulbs in each light or just one?
I'm thinking you need to double check that you got the connectors back on correctly, and the new bulbs are properly seated in the sockets.
"when you are sure everything is right, and the progam does not work, something you are sure of, is wrong."
a sign I had in my office in my computer programming days . . . the theory still applies.

Plus 1, also when they blick fast it normally means a connection is not correct or not connected at all

Thanks so much for the replies Gents,
I was not aware there were two separate bulbs in the housing one for low and one for high. Anyone have a quick link write up on accessing the low bean bulb or is in the same casing house and I just overlooked it? that would make sense that if it is two seperate bulbs the blinker is still wonky
great having this forum to rely on thanks again to all
