Passenger Door Won't Open From Inside
Hi all. Need some advice before I pop open the door panel and see what's up. I've got a 2005 MCS and this problem just started where the passenger door will not open from inside only from out. This occurs both with the Mini running (2 pulls on the inside door handle) and with it off requiring only one pull. From what it feels like, the inside door handle is not jammed at all. It pulls freely, just feels like there's no 'connection' with the door latch anymore. My wife loves it being that whenever she's shotgun, she gets the gentlemen's treatment when I walk around and open the door for her. Please help - she's becoming spoiled!

If you search for "Bowden Cable" you'll likely find the answer. It boils down to a few variations on the issue with the same set of 5 or so parts in the door. Usually it just slips unconnected, but sometimes things grind have plastic snap and need replacing.
Edit: I found the thread I had running on this a while back, that's had several folks leave good info in https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-bulletin.html

The bowden cable is either stretched out or come loose on door actuator or handle.
Remove the door panel and check it out. If the cable has a blue end where it goes into the actuator it is the old style, MINI updated these and the newer style have orange plastic on the ends. I'd just go ahead and replace it. If you need one I have them in stock, they are only $10.

This happened to me about a month ago
I pulled out the door panel and searched for what was wrong. The only thing is that there isn't much place to work in there and unless you know exactly what you are looking for chances are you wont see/find anything
I then decided to take it to MINI and they said that the connection between the wire and the mechanism was detached. The connection is ensured by a piece of plastic that prevents the cable from detaching itself. In my case it had gotten loose.
Dealer fixed and added a Ty-Wrap to ensure it would'nt happen again.
Total cost 75$
Other possible problem could be that your wire stretched.
Hope this helps
