Not to step on any toes DrTran, but the Sunroof does not require reprogramming, the reprogramming you might be thinking is for the Side Windows which on occassion have had issues.
Molly's has had to be adjusted, it was out of spec. by 1/4" on one side. Lubing the rails might help, but I think a trip to the dealer is in order DarkOx, sorry!!

Shortly after I got my 2008 MCS, the rear sunroof would not open on hot days which would cause the front to do the same thing as yours. I found that if I pressed up on the rear sunroof while trying to open it, they would then open.
Had the dealership fix the alignment on both sunroofs (as well as replace a noisy front sunroof seal) and the problem has not reappeared.
