Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
I noticed while turning into my driveway to the right I hear a shooshing sound from my front left tire, I also noticed that if I'm taking off from a stop sign and go either right or left I feel a intermittent wheel hop 2-3 times and everything is fine.
I'm thinking it may be my wheel bearings or perhaps a bad control arm? Any help would be great.
You think a CV Boot would be causing these issues? I'll take a peek under the car and see.
Sort of.... the boot causes the CV joint to go bad which causes noises during turns often (like a grinding)
This may not be the issue, but worth a check..

It won't until all the grease is tossed or washed out and the thing tears itself apart. Checking the boot is a quick way to narrow it down, though it isn't impossible the thing is a bad without the boot torn, as far as I know, a torn boot always ends badly.
My front left CV boot seems fine, doesn't look damaged or torn at all. So I doubt this may be my problem. Anybody else have a hunch concerning this issue?
It's the shock tower combined with what might be the axel. I had the same issue. If you don't get it fixed the shock will be soon to go. I waited and had a $2,300 dollar job done by mini. Ouch.
