Frozen shifter

Frozen shifter
I hit a pothole the other day (split the tire and flattened the rim) and parked it shortly after, when i went to start it up the other day after 4 days of it sitting outside in below freezing weather the shifter was frozen in place. I tried it again last night and let it idle for awhile and it loosened up after 10min. This morning when i went to drive to work it was frozen again, so i let it sit and it loosened up after idling for a little bit.
Did I damage something that would cause this or is it just from water or something in the tranny?
Note: it shifts great and has zero problems once it warms up

My '03 used to do this too, it's just moisture in the cables.
If you really want to fix it, replace the cable cassette, the newer versions have different seals so the moisture can't get in the cables.
The alternative is to park it in a nice warm garage!![tongue](https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
I'm surprised it got cold enough in Phoenix to cause you a problem, on my '03 it had to get below 25* overnight to cause a problem.

-it's not that big of a deal (just gotta remember to park in neutral so i don't have to keep my foot on the clutch while it warms up), forces me to wait for my car to warm up in the morning. I just wanted to make sure my tranny wasn't going to go out on me suddenly and this was an early warning
-Will it dry out and stop happening (long as it doesn't get wet again) even if it's cold?
