rough cold idle and rough engine

When cold, my clubman s 2008 (18000 mile) acts like the old cars did when you didn't pull the choke out when cold, it "bucks" for about a mile and has a rough idle. Took to dealer, said use only Chevron gas "because there are no error codes, must be the gas". Is this the same problem as this thread is about, or a different problem?
thanks

Very similar to my problem except I usually let the idle smooth out before I drive away. Your problem sounds more serious then mine since yours bucks. Mine does buck a little but not too bad if you drive away right away after starting. So has the Chevron fuel resolved your problem?

not yet, they also told me to add chevron Techron fuel system cleaner. I am dubious, since I usually use chevron gas, and the problem just started a couple of months ago. Just wondering if the advice makes any sense, and if the lack of an error code really rules out a engine problem. Thanks for the reply.
