Your odometer when new - how low can you go?
When I ordered my 2011 MCS I spoke to my advisor about how many miles I should expect on the odometer. Although I didn't get a specific answer, I was suprised to see that I had 8 miles on the odometer - is that high? Perhaps anything in the single digits is good? I actually thought it would be lower thinking how far 8 miles is. My M.A. stated that they go fill Minis with premium gas down the street at the corner service station, the factory does a test drive, and there is a bit of driving on/off the port. Hmmm... does a gas fill, test drive at the factory, load/unload on the ship add up to 8 miles?
How low was your odometer when you picked up your new Mini???

Mine had 101!!
It's my 1st car so although I was surprised I figured it was typical. Guess not. But it's a 2006 bought in Nov of that year when most people were ordering the next gen. My dealer had to scout around the area to find one with the specs I wanted. Maybe a lot of people test drove it?

Mine had 8 when I picked it up.
I worked for a dealer for a number of years handling our new and used inventory. When a new car comes of the truck it normally had 1-2 miles on it. Part of the process the dealer has to do is run it through the shop and check everything on a list out. Part of the is a road test.
So its normal to have between 8 and 20 miles on a brand new car. Any more and it could be that it was driven by someone at the dealer or the owner. Our owner would take some of the brand new high end models out for a few days.
