Revs, revs and some more revs

Here is the deal guys... I have a 1.4 Mini One (R56) that has been doing something for the last few thousand miles that is driving me nuts...

So I'm in my car waiting for the lights to change, auto-off function disengaged (never found much use for it to be honest), gently tap the gas and the car starts to shake and the revs drop below the normal idle mark... Truth be told, it doesn't seem to have a steady idle, ever, but it's actually scaring me... It won't happen if I hammer it, but it'll still run kindda harsh and I can't do that with these gas prices (1.5 € / litre... yeah, it's a b.... )

Brought it to the dealer and the only thing they did was check for error codes

BTW: ever noticed the revs raising to 1k when you let the car roll on neutral? Mine does that all the time, and if it will refuse to rev...

Hell... maybe I'm way too picky, but my old 89 civic never did that... Steady and true all the time...

So guys, what's the verdict?

Thx

How many miles are on it? Maybe the valves are clogged with carbon deposits.

This auto-off feature intrigues me, surely it can't save enough gas to be worth the wear on your engine and starter.

It has 12000 miles They told me about using bad petrol, but I only buy from ''mainstream''/top tier companies... None of that low cost stuff (I wish I could... I really do lol)

I thought about the IACV, or the ECU, but that could have sth to do with too! Hope not, cause that would bring some serious pain... But better now than when the warranty ends...

I think I only used it for like 2 weeks... The sound the engine made when it was turning back on was so metallic and loud that Rather spend money on petrol than on replacing engine parts...

BTW: just realised something... posted something about a second gen on the first gen side LOL Who can help me relocate it?

You might have better luck on the www.mini2.com site as it is a more European minded site.

Engines with start-stop usually have a slightly larger started because of that.
