As a new MINI Coper owner, I am excited to get under the bonnet and do some performance upgrades. I'm ready to go out and purchase a small tool set, but the burning question I have is this: Does MINI use English or Metric components and fasteners. On the one hand, the car was assembled in Great Britain (which I believe still uses the English measurement system), but the engine was made by BMW and Chrysler. Does anyone out there have a definitive answer? Thanks in advance...

The car employs the metric system concerning tool sizes.
The English system you refer to (imperial) is not used on the car.

Actually the engine is made by Peugeot and built in Brazil.

By English, I'm guessing you meant either British Standard or Whitworth (different sizes), and both were used until they became extinct in new vehicles around 1970 (I think). No worries, Mate... metric will do the trick for your MINI!
