Gear shift issues

I have a '06 MINI hardtop - manual. It started to get a little hard to shift gears today almost as if it 'snapped' into a gear, not as smooth as usual, also, my clutch started to stick on my way home from work. The transition of gears was alright for a while, any ideas or thoughts on what I can do?

I've already made an appointment to get my car checked out, but if its as simple as maybe im low on something - I'd rather save the money.

explain the clutch sticking part please. The cables can make the shifting hard, but the coincidence of the clutch points more to the clutch wearing out. How many miles on it, are you original owner (do you know if it has been replaced)?

My clutch has 106K miles on it and when I finally feel something funky, I pretty much will know what it is.

my car has almost 87k on it. when i push the clutch down all the way, it sticks a little and releases. I am not the original owner, however I don't believe its been replaced either.
