A question for the track and auto cross guys (Overheat?)

So I recently autocrossed my 05 cooper s for the first time, shorlty after I bought the car it needed the thermostat gasket replaced, this has been fixed for a few months now. and seemed to be heating up while I raced. I only did 2 runs lasting roughly 40 seconds and my temp guage was creeping toward the warm side, the car was warmed up prior to racing and sat at roughly 200 and had moved just slightly toward hot and just concerned me as it was only two heats in, although it never went above say 215ish the following day I went for a spirited drive through some twisties and the same thing, it started to get warm never overheated but did warm up. I was just wondering if this is normal or if there is something I should be concerned with here. Thanks for any help

Just checked to make sure both of your fans are turning on when the car gets warm, you should be able to hear them

You may want to pull out the thermostat to make sure it's faced the right way.

It stays at the correct running temp 90 percent of the time, like during daily driving. it was just with the auto cross and the spirited drive that it warmed up slightly.

I have experienced the high speed fan turning on in grid after a run on a hot day, but I have not experienced the temp gauge rising above the normal mark.

I do agree that perhaps a bit of troubleshooting is indicated.

have you checked coolant level, you could have had a small air bubble from the thermostat replacement that has worked out. Its a long shot.
