Intake manifold nut/washer substitute

Long story short, one of the intake manifold nut/washer units shattered while I was tightening them.
Dealer said they were back-ordered & the had to "make more".
Real OEM lists the part as "ended". What does THAT mean??
Anyway, I would normally just do something like dremel the washer off the nut, find a suitable washer and go from there. But I sure as hell do not want to pull the front end again to diagnose some problem that may cause. I don't think rigging it would be a problem, but is there any ECU/super fancy European reason that I shouldn't go this route? Am I overlooking anything?
