Auto up windows stopped...help
#27
Here's something else I discovered about this feature. I have the proximity key and the auto-up will not work if the key is not physically inserted into the slot. I'm not sure if this is a safety thing or not. So long as I have the key in, it always works so it seems programmed to the fob.

Thank you! This made my first day with my new used 2011 JCW Clubman much better. Well done.

Passenger window auto feature hasn't worked for along time. Now the window remains closed, makes a clicking sound when toggled. Any thoughts.

One other possibility I discovered a week of so ago that can cause a glitch. I closed my door but did not know I hadn't closed it 'all the way' and the window went down automatically but when I went to put it up I had to hold the button up or it would stop. Then I realized the door wasn't quite closed, closed it properly and it worked fine. (2013 Justa)

possibly resurrecting I know.
This one worked in my 2013 Clubman S when the driver window decided to stop auto up functioning. Thanks for that! The other solution- holding down for 30 sec. holding up for 30 sec has worked in the past when the window would not close after the slight auto down when opening and closing the pass door.
Which makes me want to pose the question- will any of this run it open and hold the button stuff work on the sunroof? I would love to have the auto open and auto close on the sunroof. Dealer said they would not program it. Safety concerns I think. I cant begin to understand the NCS Expert stuff.

This is NOT the proper initialization procedure!!!!!
The following is right from the MINI TIS bulletin:

The following is right from the MINI TIS bulletin:
- Close the window and door fully.
- Lower the window by holding the switch in the "down" position. Continue to hold the switch down for at least 5 seconds after the window has been fully lowered.
- Raise the window by holding the switch in the "fully up" position. Continue to hold the switch in the up position for at least 5 seconds after the window has been fully raised.
- Repeat steps 1 to 3 for the window on the other side.

Thank you
Over the last 6 months was wondering if I was going to have to replace a motor or something, but found this easy fix! Thanks!

Auto up and window auto up when closing was not working on the pass side. You could clearly hear the "thud" sound when closing the passenger door because the window was not moving down slightly before closing. The method that worked for my on my 2015 F56 was simply holding the button down 5 seconds after bringing the window down, then holding 5 seconds on the button up when bringing it back up.

Very useful tip that we should all share.
Thank you

7 1/2 years later, this is still a helpful post. My wife had service at the dealer and asks me why auto up doesn't work anymore. 30 second search, two minute procedure and she is happy and I look like a hero. Thanks!

Thanks 10Zero - I have an old ‘09 r56 that I had forgotten how to set the one-touch window up feature; a couple days ago I found my battery was to weak to start the car or sound the chime. Got it charged and I quickly noticed the one-touch up feature was not working. I also found that the “remote open windows and sunroof” feature was only popping up the roof. I logged in to NAM and found your post, now all is well again.

The following worked on my 2013 R56 S when my driver's side window wouldn't auto close.
This did not work for me. I even held down the toggle for eight seconds instead of five.
This is NOT the proper initialization procedure!!!!!

Contributing to/resurrecting an old thread.
I’m in a new-to-me 2103 R59 Roadster. When I got in it and one-touch window function was missing, I was confused, thinking (apparently rightly so) that my ‘08 HC Clubman and ‘13 BC Countryman both had the feature. Found this thread, went outside, tried the first fix (pop-in/out the fob) and regained one touch down on both sides. But no matter what sequence or duration of raising/lowering and button-holding I use, I can’t get one touch up back. The windows do auto-drop on door opening. They will also go full down by holding the unlock key on the fob.
Suggestions/directions/instructions appreciated. If it’s useful I have the Autel OBD tool.
