Idling problems

2007 Cooper, 50k
The car has been running faultless until tonight on the way home from work.
I got to a set of lights and when stopped the revs were up and down then finally settled?
I thought it was a 1 off until i got to another stop and the revs died so i had to re start
At another give way it did the same again (now getting peed off) and when i got home the revs were up and down again
It drives and revs ok when on the move so what could it be?
he clutch is at the top and i'm not sure if that connected as you have to dip it when starting? it isn't slipping so can't be that bad
any ideas?

I have always used a hand propane torvh (not lit) and swept it around all the vacuum hoses to find the leak.

Alot of people frown on that one, but it's not as dangerous as some say and work pretty well. You can use ether starter fluid too.

This happened to me about a month ago.Lo and behold it was a bad tank of gas from a Shell station (V-Power 93 oct.)I ran that tank pretty empty and refilled the next day at my local Shell and dropped some techron in it and car is back to running flawlessly.Hopefully something simple will correct yours too, good luck.

We have another thread here on idling issues. One owner found success after replacing all the o-rings between the intake manifold and the throttle body and the throttle body of the head. I'm still chasing mine.......
