DIY Fuel Injector Replacement or Cleaning? (MCS/JCW)

[I tried posting this in the 'How To' forum, but it needs moderator approval and it occurs to me that if I'm not showing people how to do it, it may not pass muster.
But it seems the general questions I ask are relevant here, as fuel injector clogging is a fairly common stock issue on the direct-injection models.]

Anyone replaced their own fuel injectors on the turbocharged engine?
Is it something reasonable for a DIY job with basic tools?

Is it reasonable to manually clean fuel injectors once they're out?
Maybe pull them out and soak their tips in a bowl of techron for a bit?
Or is replacement the way to go?
