Mid RPM Lag?

Mid RPM Lag?
Yellow,
I am having a annoying problem in my 2004 MCS! Whenever I would slam or even engage the throttle more than half way around 3,000RPM, my RPM needle would go up, then down a bit, then up again, but the car doesn't seem like its going any faster. It feels like my car is lagging. It seems like the gear is not catching the engine while I slam on the gas. It is an annoying lag whenever I'm trying to merge onto the freeway. I would have to downshift every time I enter a freeway. One time, I was on the freeway and right after I switched to 4th gear and slam on the throttle and the RPMs would rise instantly, but the car would catch the gear in about 1 second. I don't really know how to explain this, but I would post up a video soon.

I do have a manual!! Its weird because this problem appeared right after I got my car out of the shop. I got my TSW mount installed. The lag was really bad at first and then I changed my oil and it wasn't that noticeable, but there is a slight lag. Is there any cheap way to test out my clutch?
