headlight leveling sensor touching e-brake

Hey guys,

I was under the car because I've been getting a wheel speed sensor light come up every time I got over bumps (ABS, DSC, TPMS lights light up) and I notice the rear auto leveling sensor is touching and scratching the ebrake cable.

The pictures below show the "damage" you are looking at it from behind the rear driver's side wheel.

Any suggestions? and how can I tell which speed sensor is bad? can that be read with a OBDII scanner? the sensor resets itself every time I turn the car off.

mine was doing the same thing but not causing any codes, i just used a couple fat zipties to hold the cable off the sensor.

I don't think it's causing the sensor issue either. I went in there looking for the sensor problem but saw this in the process... I'll try the zip ties.

Everything seems to be tight and all so yeah.. weird...

Thanks

Ok the level sensor is ONLY for the headlights, it has nothing to do with the ABS or traction control
Your Ebrake cable hittingthe level sensor is normal, I think every MINI does that when you have them jacked up, when the car sits on the ground the cable moves away from the sensor arm.
To diagnosis the ABS system you will need something better than an OBDII scanner. You'll need the BMW computer or equal but they are over $15k. The most cost effective tool a owner can get is the Bav Technic software, otherwise your paying a shop with the computer to check it out.

I knew that it wasn't related to the ABS sensor. I was looking for that problem with I saw the cable. the last question was a bonus question :P

I'll check again when the car is not jacked up. kinda weird tho that if that's the case the cable is so worn out from just jacking the car up...
