Key fob not working, not a battery issue

I have had my '05 MCS for about a year now and since I bought it the key fobs (2) have not worked. I tried the reprogramming instructions but that didn't seem to work. I read the posts about dead batteries so I had a shop test the unit with a meter that reads signal strength and it was fine. The car did have a Viper alarm system in it at some point as I got a couple remotes with the car but they dont work either.

I'm confused on what else it could be? I thought perhaps the Viper was interfering with the stock fobs but I have no idea about how to find it or disconnect it. Any help would be appreciated!
