Crank Pulley vibrating too much?!?!

Ok Locke is a 04 MCS. Please look at the video below. Should the crank pulley/vibration dampener be moving that much? I have a tensioner replacement on the way already.

They are known to go bad. You can find good aftermarket ones. I have an ATI I got from Way, but there is one RMW has that I might have bought if I had known about it (I don't think it was up for sale then.)

Go to way motor works and RMW to make your choice. Factory ones are same price and no where as good.

Yes crank pulley probably is bad. Your belt has been is about to snap. You're down to 4 ribs there.

Will be ordering the ATI one from Way in the morning. Have a tensioner on the way already for an install of both later this week.

Well today I replaced my crank pulley, belt, and worn out tensioner. Added the Detroit Tuned tensioner stop and the ATI super damp. All is good now in Locke's world.

Thanks to Way for assisting me with my decision.

Make sure you have the DT tensioner stop correctly positioned! Don't let it slip while tightening the bolts or it can limit the dampers movement.

Lovely. I'll have to check with my local Mini specilist about this.

When it fails, what other things fail? For instance, earlier Mazda Miatas have a front pulley/vibration damper problem and it completely screws up the crankshaft.

If It fails many other issues could occur depending on the way it fails I suppose. But I was lucky.
