Odd noise when I press in the clutch, pressurized air?

I've noticed a similar noise from my clutch pedal; wouldn't mind knowing what causes it, and if it's something that requires attention before my warranty expires in another year...
There are some other threads running around about a "squeaking" noise from the clutch pedal (start your reading with this one), which is probably closer to what I'm experiencing. But I don't know if they're related sounds. I haven't noticed any degradation in the function of my clutch; it's just a curious sound that I don't even notice when driving (I really have only heard it when the motor is shut off).

I've experienced an unexpected noise when the clutch is fully or near fully depressed. It more often occured in 1, 2, and sometimes 3rd gears. It comes and goes and is not always present.
Searching threads I found one that described a noise similar to the noise associated with "closing the hatch" ... which I thought was pretty accurate.
I've modified my driving style to listen to the sound of the engine for clues on when to: engage clutch, shift, disengage clutch, and hit gas petal. Can't really describe what I listen for other than for the motor to sound like I expect ... rev goes up/down/up/... as I cycle through the gears. In the past, I'd get to 3500 on the tach and just go through the motions. I've rarely hear the noise after changing driving style.
Maybe its something in the CPU/throttle response/"learn how you drive" magic ?

to OP - is it a click like (really brief sound)? If so your pedal assembly may be hitting the master cylinder hard line. Go on your knees, push in with hand and watch. Mine hits by about 1-2mm and if I push the pedal on an angle toward the center of the car, it avoids the line altogether. This was repaired once (a total assembly replacement) and is back again.

Will have to fiddle with it this weekend to see what I can solve.
