Stock Intake Tube Slipping Off

It started back in the beginning of may, the car was making the blow off valve noise very noticeable and the service light came on, I didn't understand why the blow off valve was noticeable since there is no intake modifications at the moment so I popped the hood and instantly noticed that the intake tube fell off the throttle body. I reattached it and tightened the screw and thought it was a one time deal.

However now it has become a daily chore... Every time the car is parked I have to pop the hood and push the intake tube back on... now it is getting annoying . The lip on the throttle body and inside the intake tube feels very slick and I think that is the problem, what can I do about this?

This problem started occurring after I installed, and instantly removed the Alta intake because it was an over oiled filter that caused nothing but lag. Did the oil get inside the tube and is that what is causing the problem?

Need to get this fixed asap before I go crazy. I don't care if I have to take it to the MINI dealership to get it fixed just want to know if anyone has any answers or suggestions.

You'll likely get more help by asking in the 2nd Gen forums as this one is more for the supercharged and NA 1st Gen Minis.

Remove the intake tube and clean the inside mounting surface and the surface it is mounted to with degreaser and alcohol. Reinstall and you should be fine.
