Installed OBX Header few codes now

Ok so my cat blew a few weeks ago and ive had a check engine light show up a few days after that which i was expecting.

So today i installed the OBX header unfortunately i dont have my cat so its header back which sounds just as bad as with the broken cat. I mixed up the plugs on my coil causing 3 Codes now.

P0303 - Engine misfire in cylinder 3 (hooked plugs correctly now the car runs fine but i still have the code even after trying to clear it)

P0136 - Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

P2270 - 02 Sensor Stuck Lean

My magnaflow cat comes in on thursday and im getting it put on then. Should i be expecting these codes to clear after cat is installed?

I am using a Scan Gauge II to clear/reset my codes.

Any insight would be awsome im just scared i screwed something up.

Thank you!

Dorman Help Anti-Fouler O2 spacer

Put a spacer called 'anti-fouler' from Dorman Help part# 42002 between the O2 sensor and cat. converter. $6 part.

I have scangauge 2 and it is a hit and miss when it comes to clearing codes in my other car BMW 330. My Mini has the Mynes headers V.1 but luckily never had cel or codes popping out. Mynes say that once codes have adopted it is very hard for generic tools to clear it.
Go to a shop who has Autologic to clear the code or to the dealer if their price is reasonable. It should not be more than $40, my guess.
Also, re-tighten the bolts to the cyl. head after couple of heat cycles.

Ok so i had my magnaflow Cat installed at a muffler shop. But my butt dyno feels almost a loss of power from the mini. Its also alot quieter which is opposite of what i was expecting as well . I informed the man that i needed a flex joint cause the exhaust had to be able to flex with the engine. The obx header didnt come with one so they installed one but its like 7 inchs long and after my catalytic converter. Is this where im feeling my power loss?

This shop also said my cat would cause codes cause i have a california car. But i dont live in california so why would i adhere to california's standards. My Scanguage cleared all my codes after Cat was installed. It is running nicely but i feel like i should have gained so HP from the OBX but i could be wrong.

Any insight would be awsome im going to take pics today and post them.

I don't have a lot to offer because I'm on here searching for information. My header/cat broke between the pre-cat and catalytic converter. I was looking at a $1600 job for replacement with a remanufactured stock unit but found a muffler shop to weld it back together for $40.

What I have learned: When I "imported" my car into California the DMV inspector was glad to see it was a MINI because all of them are California models, at least through my 2005 ragtop. Throwing codes will only be a problem in places with mandatory inspections which don't allow thrown codes. My muffler guy today told me California has gotten very strict and not only checks for codes but also original equipment part numbers. He couldn't build a manifold/cat for me without risking his status. Since I still frequent New Mexico I could have it done there and hope for the best with inspections . . . but it couldn't throw codes.

I have a scanguage II and when I had trouble with Dodge PU codes the technical support person gave me some tips to trick it. Has to do with looking for codes when I first turn the key on but before I start it. Cat code as well. Probably won't work for your codes but my point is the technical support people could be helpful.

Good luck. Keep posting.

I've had the OBX header on my '04 CooperS for 3 years. No Codes after installation, and holding up perfectly. In my experience a lot of Codes can appear with just one small issue. When everything is installed right, clear the codes (I use a Scangauge). I doubt they'll come back.

When I installed my OBX, rather than use a flex pipe I used tighter engine mounts to limit motion and the need for a flex. What little motion remaining is absorbed by the stock flexi seal on the OBX. Though I didn't use one, I doubt that the flex pipe is limiting flow enough to kill the benefit of the header.

My installation included eliminating the resonator (one-ball?) and using the stock cat but modifying it to have a 2.5" inlet to match the outlet on the OBX. I think this was a key. Don't know anything about Magnaflow cats, but with the exception of the too small inlet, the stock cat flows really well. My exhaust sounds really nice, (slightly raspy, nice burble and pop on decel) and after the ECU figured out what I did in a day or two, the power grew nicely. That might be what's hampering the power you expected more than anything else. Either give the ECU time to figure it out, or reset the ECU yourself.

I think the OBX header is a surprisingly high quality for the price. Get yours figured out and you'll be happy with it.
