Brake Sensor Problem

Searched the forum already to no avail, so unfortunately here's a new thread.

I was in traffic the other day and had to really slam on my brakes to avoid an accident, and my brake sensor light came on. Seeing as I replaced the brakes (all 4) less than a year ago I know they are fine. Has anyone had this happen? Might it be a glitch, or did my hard brake somehow get to the sensor and wear through? Thanks in advance for your expertise!

Sorry I cannot help too much, but the exact same did happen to me. exact same situation as well. All that could even be thought of that happened was that something (unknown) broke the sensor itself. When I had the brakes looked at, all was fine. Some how, the wear sensor just broke. Still remains a mystery to me...

The sensor might not have been placed just right in the pad...and it got cut...the sensor is just a wire that sits in the grouve in the pad...the pad wears...gets thin..the wire gets cut by rubbing on the rotor when it gets thin....very simple system.
if you are 100% sure the pads are in good shape (they do/can wear unevenly)the sensor can be bypassed....there is one sensor on one pad in the front, and one on one pad in the back...to bypass the sensor, just find the wire for the sensor in the wheel well/along the strut tower, and cut it (on the sensor side not the cars wiring harness side), and twist the ends together ...then monitor pad wear manually, no light.

What you mean, is that i cut the wire that goes in the pads? In which part?
What happen if i take off the wire when the light is off, never have more problems with the light?
My pads are like new now and i replace the sensor and reset like three times but now it doesnt let me because when i try to reset the brake service it said that the brake reset is done.
Please help me
